'Godzilla vs. Kong', directed by Adam Wingard, was a hit at the Indian box office on March 24. The film has been released in English as well as Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages in the country. It is the fourth film in Monster's Films after 'Godzilla' (2014), 'Kong Skull Island' (2017) and 'Godzilla King of the Monsters' (2019).

On the one hand, Bollywood movies are battling at the box office and are believed to be responsible for the rise in coronavirus cases, while the Hollywood film Godzilla Vs Kong has shocked the premiere industry. The film has better openings than the recently released Bollywood movies 'Ruhi' and 'Mumbai Saga'. According to trade news on the film, 'Godzilla vs. Kong' has premiered over 6 million in all languages combined.

According to film analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Godzilla vs. Kong' grossed Rs 6.40 million on its first day (net box office collection). These earnings figures are shocking as it is believed that increasing coronavirus cases will keep viewers away from theaters. 'Godzilla vs Kong' was a success when the film opened in the middle of the week. The film was released on 1770 screens at the national box office.

However, most of the film collections are reported to be from South India, where the film is well-watched. According to Andhra Box Office.com, the film has had huge premieres in Tamil Nadu. It is said that this movie has got a better debut than the recently released movies.

Compared to the recently released Bollywood movies, 'Ruhi' had nearly 3 million openings on March 11, while 'Mumbai Saga', which came out on March 19, had deposited Rs 2.82 million on its first day. Godzilla vs Kong grossed more than the first-day collections for these two films. This suggests that audiences are not far from theaters, and that event film is needed to achieve that.

This is the 36th film in the Godzilla franchise and the 12th in the Kong franchise. Godzilla Vs Kong stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, and Rebecca Hall in the lead roles. The film was originally slated for release in November 2020 but was delayed due to the epidemic.
