In the fierce competition for audiences, Netflix and HBO Max are known not to hang out. Two of his biggest bets are series that emerge after the success of famous video games: "The Witcher" on Netflix, whose second season will arrive in December, and "The Last of Us" on HBO Max, which will arrive next year.
These two strips have been generating a stir with millionaire budgets that show that they are one of the most ambitious and risky proposals of these streaming services. And how could it be otherwise, a fundamental part of these projects are their protagonists: actors Henry Cavill and Pedro Pascal.
According to Variety, "The Witcher" and "The Last of Us" are considered among the largest adaptations ever made to the small screen. Part of that statement has to do with the fact that they have among their cast two of the television actors with the highest salaries these days: Cavill and Pascal.
The Chilean actor Pedro Pascal comes from the star jump that it meant in his career to star in the Star Wars series "The Mandalorian", which can be seen on Disney +. He has now been booked to play Joel, one of the main characters in what will be the series "The Last of Us." This spectacular and long-awaited production has already reported that Pedro will obtain the modest sum of $ 600,000 per episode, which adds up to a few million if all the chapters are considered.
And it was surprising that Henry Cavill, one of the actors of the moment for a few years now, is below Pascal's figure. Especially since "The Witcher" is already a proven formula with a successful first season. Anyway, the Geralt de Rivia interpreter's arrangement is not bad at all as he will earn $ 400,000 per episode.
At the bottom of the math, Henry will pocket $ 3.2 million for his work on the new eight chapters of the epic and fantasy action series of the mighty sorcerer. With those numbers, they both rank among the most expensive players in the industry.
