Connecting more than one Bluetooth speaker or headset is primarily dependent on the device you're using and the Bluetooth version your phone supports natively. Bluetooth v4.2, for example, only permits one-on-one device connections up to 30 meters. Bluetooth v5 on the other hand, allows you to connect two devices at once and extends the connection up to 120 meters. Some Bose speakers come with their own audio apps that allow you to couple two speakers together. However, not all businesses offer this service.
How to connect two Bluetooth headphones and speakers to one phone
Dual audio (on Android) and audio sharing (on iPhone) are now standard features on most phones, allowing you to listen to music from two devices at the same time. Apple's iPhone 8 and later models support audio sharing, so unless you have an extremely ancient phone, likely, yours does as well. When you initially connect your headphones and talk, the first step is to try connecting them one by one.
Similarly, if you have a Samsung Galaxy S8 or later model, you can use a dual audio option to connect extra speakers and headphones. The Bluetooth settings are where you'll find this. Other users can try this procedure if they have the necessary equipment:
Android users must go to Bluetooth settings and pair each Bluetooth headphone or speaker individually.
Once connected, go to the right-hand three-dot icon and select Advanced Settings. If it isn't already on, turn on the 'dual audio' option. It allows the user to connect to two devices at the same time.
Users using Android 10 and higher can access their linked Bluetooth devices by selecting both paired devices for audio output in the Quick Panel's Media section.
Users using iPhones will need to go to the Control Center. To output audio simultaneously, tap the Airplay icon and select Paired Wireless Headphones or Speakers. If you deselect either the headphones or the speakers, audio sharing on that device will be disabled.
