Burj Khalifa illuminated Picture of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi

On the occasion of the 152nd birth anniversary of the patriarch Mahatma Gandhi, a portrait of the patriarch was unveiled on Saturday night in Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

Many events were organized in India and around the world on the occasion of the National Jubilee. Born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat, Mahatma Gandhi adopted a policy of non-violence and succeeded in gaining independence from British rule in 1947. Mahatma Gandhi, popularly known as Bapu, believed in violence and self-government.

Today, Union Minister Piyush Goyal was also in the United Arab Emirates and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Indian Consulate in Dubai. Many world organizations and world leaders today commemorated Mahatma Gandhi and reiterated his message of non-violence and peace. Trade Union Industry and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal spoke about facilitating investment between the two countries.

During a meeting with Sheikh Hamid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi Emirates Executive Council, the two countries highlighted the early conclusion of negotiations to amend the long-term bilateral investment agreement. Given the importance of air transport to facilitate bilateral relations and public relations, it was also agreed to work with interested civil aviation authorities of both countries.
    
The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry conducted a digital analysis of the semi-transparent 3D crystalline model of the Hindu temple BAPS (Bochasanvasi Sri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan) under construction in Abu Dhabi, which was displayed at the India Pavilion of Expo 2020.
