Spacelink's satellite broadband service Starlink of the world's richest billionaire Elon Musk is about to make a bang in India. According to a senior Starlink official, Starlink is planning to offer broadband services in India from December 2022. Mobile network, internet speed, and all these things will change as soon as it comes, there is only one obstacle in this…
Will provide two lakh terminals
Sanjay Bhargava, India director at Starlink, said in a LinkedIn post that the companies have received 5,000 pre-orders in India. We are willing to work in rural areas of India to provide broadband services. Bhargava further said that he aims to have two lakh terminals available in India by December 2022. The company is currently awaiting government approval for the terminals.
Data speed will be in the range of 50 to 150 megabytes
Starlink claims that it will offer data speeds in the range of 50 to 150 megabytes in the beta phase. In the broadband segment, the company will compete with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea. SpaceX wrote in a post on social media that the Starlink satellite is 60 times closer to Earth than any other satellite. In such a situation, it will be very easy to get internet service through this.
Sanjay Bhargava, Director, India at Starlink, further said that they are looking forward to the day when a rural area in India will declare itself as 100% broadband. Want to work together, they can contact me.
Same interruption in starting service
SpaceX will first launch this service in some big cities of India. It is being told that Starlink internet service will be started in Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. No date has been set for the launch of the service yet and no details of the coverage area have been given, so it would be better for users to know about it before pre-booking. Starlink said that its service is available in many countries and it will be easier to get government approval if it gets a large number of pre-orders from India.
The company says that this service in India will start in 2022. It provides an internet speed of 50-150 Mbps. The company aims to give users up to 1Gbps speed. Around Rs 7,000 is being charged for its pre-booking in India. Starlink said that its service is available in many countries and getting a large number of pre-orders from India will make it easier to get government approval.
Reliance Jio - a new challenge for Airtel
Bharti Airtel is touting Airtel Xstream Fiber's Rs 999 broadband plan as the best seller. Meanwhile, users are also getting a lot of benefits in the broadband plans of Jio Fiber and BSNL. If Starlink enters India, it will present a new challenge for Reliance Jio and Airtel. Tough competition can be seen between these companies through satellite broadband service.
It is being said that Jio currently dominates the telecom sector of India. Jio has 650 million internet users, with each user consuming around 12GB of data per month. Meanwhile, the speed of the internet is not getting good in urban and rural areas of the country. Elon Musk's aim is to bring these areas into his service, but he is sure to clash with Jio. Let us tell you that in many countries including America, Starlink's internet service is available for $ 499 (about 36 thousand rupees). Internet will spread in rural areas, there will be competition from cheap plans, customers will have another better option in the coming year.
