Spider-Man has always enjoyed a privileged position among the superhero fandom; However, following the release of the trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the next film in the series, Spidey's popularity has soared in recent weeks.
Naturally, we all have our favorite 'Spider-Man' on the big screen, for many and varied reasons. First, we have the pioneer, Toby Maguire, who in the 2000s starred in the iconic Sam Raimi trilogy. Later, Andrew Garfield came to revitalize the character under the supervision of Marc Webb, and not long after the empire of Marvel Studios would put the charismatic Tom Holland in the shoes of the arachnid hero.
Now, a digital survey conducted by the specialized podcast Culture Crave reveals who the audience's favorite “Peter Parker” is and, to the amazement of many, Marvel has prevailed on the legendary hero of Sony. 30,585 users participated and 43.4% of the votes went to Tom Holland. Maguire follows with 38.5% and Garfield with 18.1%.
It should be noted that, despite Marvel's media success, the original ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy produced by Sony is the most successful of all the sagas, and has the highest-grossing at the box office surpassing any starring Holland. Is that about to change? Let us remember that the advance of ‘No Way Home’ became the most-watched in the history of the UCM, displacing the jewel in the crown, ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ will hit theaters on December 17, with performances by Tom Holland; Zendaya, Alfred Molina, and most likely Willem Dafoe and Jamie Foxx, who will return as the "Green Goblin" and "Elektro", respectively.
